Book ConsultationWhat is Nadi Swedan?
Ayurvedic Localised Herbal Steam for Pain & Detox
Nadi Swedan is a classical Ayurvedic sudation (sweating) therapy where medicated herbal steam is directed through a tube (nadi) to specific affected areas of the body. Unlike a full-body steam bath, Nadi Swedan allows targeted, localised treatment of painful joints, stiff muscles, and congested channels.
The herbal steam opens the pores, liquefies accumulated toxins (Ama), and promotes their elimination through sweating. It pacifies Vata and Kapha doshas, relieves pain, reduces stiffness, and improves the absorption of any oil applied before the therapy.

The Nadi Swedan Procedure
Our Ayurvedic doctor identifies the affected areas, assesses your dosha balance and pain condition, and selects the appropriate herbal decoction for the steam to maximise therapeutic benefit.
Herbal decoction is boiled in a vessel and the steam is channelled through a tube with a nozzle. The therapist directs this focused stream of medicated steam precisely over the painful or stiff areas — joints, spine, or muscles — allowing the herbal vapour to penetrate deeply and work therapeutically.
After the session, the treated area is wiped and the patient rests briefly. The doctor advises on aftercare, follow-up scheduling, and any supportive treatments or lifestyle guidance to complement the therapy.
