In Ayurvedic literature, Ksheerdhara is a deeply relaxing therapy where medicated milk (Ksheera) is continuously poured in a gentle, rhythmic stream over the forehead or the entire scalp. The term comes from “Ksheera” meaning milk and “Dhara” meaning continuous flow.

This therapy is known for its cooling and nourishing effect on both the body and mind. Ksheerdhara helps calm the nervous system, making it beneficial for conditions such as stress, hypertension, insomnia, anxiety, and burning sensations in the body. It supports the balance of Vata and Pitta doshas, enhances skin health, and promotes emotional harmony.
